Mr. Ortiz knew he wanted to be a teacher after spending a year volunteering in a 1st grade classroom at his local elementary school and teaching Spanish in Spain while he was completing his undergraduate studies at Cal Poly Pomona. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Mr. Ortiz went to UCLA to earn his teacher credential and bilingual authorization with an emphasis in social justice. After teaching abroad, volunteering, student teaching, and supporting many different classrooms across southern California, Mr. Ortiz is happy to be using his skills and developing them as the apprentice teacher at Equitas Academy #3. In his spare time, he enjoys singing, airplane, spotting, exercising, and spending quality time with his loved ones.
