Ms. Battle is so excited to join the Equitas Academy #3 team as a 4th grade teacher! She strongly believes in our values of curiosity and teamwork, and she's eager to share those with her scholars! Ms. Battle grew up in a tiny town called Tunica, Mississippi. She attended Ole Miss (the University of Mississippi), where she studied Psychology. Throughout college, she worked at Boys and Girls Clubs, volunteered with various tutoring programs, and helped develop a gardening and cooking program for 10-12 year olds. Upon graduating from college, she continued working with students as a 1st grade teacher in San Antonio, TX. While teaching, Ms. Battle started extracurricular activities focused on inspiring leadership and confidence in girls! Ms. Battle strives to ensure students are supported inside and outside of the classroom by engaging families in every step of their student's learning process. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment so that all students feel confident and prepared to achieve their most extraordinary goals! In her free time, Ms. Battle enjoys outdoor adventures, listening to her favorite records while cooking dinner, and traveling with friends!
