Ms. Redd was born in Chicago Illinois , but was raised in Los Angeles, CA since she was 5 years old. Having experienced her whole educational experience here in Southern California’s public education systems, she was aware of certain resources and tools that her schools could not provide due to funding and priorities. That did not stop her from giving back since the age of 15, when she first started mentoring and tutoring middle school aged children on the importance of academic excellence. Ms. Redd received a B.A. in African American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles where she continued her involvement with underprivileged youth in south Los Angeles, providing mentorship and tutoring for middle and high school students. With 10 years of working with children under her belt, joining the Equitas team was the right decision considering her passion for working with children. Being that this is her first year with the Equitas family, Ms. Redd is more than excited to teach scholars new tools and techniques that will mold them and help them reach academic excellence and uphold Equitas values.
