Ms. Jaimes was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. Growing up and attending public schools in low-income areas didn't provide her with the proper tools she deserved to succeed in the classroom. She discovered her passion for teaching when she began volunteering at her church with school age children. She has also worked for a summer camp with children in the Pico-Union community. Ms. Jaimes has over seven years of experience working with school age children. Ms. Jaimes first joined the Equitas team as an after-school Program Leader and is currently an Instructional Aide. Ms. Jaimes is currently attending Los Angeles City College and is very excited to be transferring to a Cal State University to obtain her bachelor’s degree. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her family. Ms. Jaimes hopes to provide scholars with the proper tools they will need in order to graduate from college.
