Ms. Higgins is so excited to be teaching third grade at Equitas Academy #3 this year!

She grew up in Pasadena, CA before attending Washington and Lee University in Virginia for her undergrad. While there, she majored in Mandarin Chinese and Music with a minor in Education. She got a Music credential while in Virginia and worked as a long-term substitute for a Pre-K classroom. While on summer break in 2018 and 2019, she co-taught third and fourth graders English as a Foreign language at Keystone Academy in Beijing. From there, she moved back to LA and began teaching at an adult school called American English College. While there, she taught English as a Second Language and obtained her Masters of Teaching from USC.

She found her way to Equitas Academy #3 when she discovered that her true passion lay in teaching elementary school students. That prompted her to begin pursuing her Multiple Subjects credential and look for positions in local elementary schools. Equitas Academy immediately caught her eye for their supportive coaching model for teachers and excellent track record with scholars. In her spare time, Camilla enjoys singing and walking her family's dog.
