Ms. Paul’s love for education grew from a young age when she helped to launch a leadership camp for young Girl Scouts while she was still in middle school. Through this experience, she discovered that what she loved most about the learning process was the “a-ha” moment when a learning suddenly grasped a new concept. As she moved through school, Ms. Paul took every opportunity she could to continue to grow her skills in teaching and to expand her horizons to new challenges, and she fell in love with working with early elementary students.
This will be Ms. Paul’s first year on the Equitas team and she is currently completing her Masters of Education program through Claremont Graduate University. She has been working with children for many years, including two years embedded in a bilingual preschool classroom in Watsonville, California, teaching pre-literacy skills through Santa Cruz Reading Corps. Before that, she tutored in elementary settings in San Francisco while attending San Francisco State University for her undergraduate program. She loves teaching because of the things she learns from the students. Teaching is never a one-way process, and she is excited to see what the students of this beautiful school can accomplish this year.
